- A Film in Your Backpack 16th Edition
-
A Film in Your Backpack is now in its sixteenth edition. It is a film festival with movies from all over the world, shown in original language with a simultaneous translation done in the showroom by a very good actress who “dubs” all the characters. This festival lasts for three months, from January to April, following the academic calendar and ends with a big awards party in May. Awards are given to the best critical reviews written by our young spectators. This festival currently involves thousands of spectators, for the most part very young, ages 3 and up.
The viewings are held in the morning, at Cinema Jolly, during school hours, and involve sixty Scholastic Institutes of every type and grade. These films will be shown again during the morning on Sundays at Cinema Europa so that adults, parents, grandparents, teachers and film lovers of every age can come and see these works which are designed for a child audience, and largely excluded from the Italian commercial circuit. A film in your backpack is not just a showcase of quality films, many of which will be premiered in Italy during this festival, but also a didactic project which includes a weekly laboratory after every viewing in each class that participates by coming to the cinema.
